Waiting for Eureka

I was reading Naked Empire the other day, and there was a single two word phrase that kept standing out to me. The Wizard's 8th Rule "Deserve victory". I've had those words stuck in my head now for two days. I get this feeling that as I think about them there is something I should be getting, something I am almost understanding. Ever get like that?

Deserve victory...

What is victory? What do you have to do to deserve it?

I'm going to keep turning the idea around in my head, because it feels important. I read the same book before, years ago without the same reaction to it. So what is it now that makes those words more important?
